Does Virtual World Direct have any recognised accreditation?
Yes. We are members of the UK Lottery Council, an organisation representing the interests of various companies and other bodies engaged in lawful lottery-related activities. We adhere to their Code of Conduct.

When do I start playing?
As soon as you receive email confirmation that your application has been accepted (normally within seconds of you submitting your online application form) you will be playing in the next UK Lotto or EuroMillions draw. The draws take place normally between 8.00pm and 10pm GMT. If you are applying on the day of a draw and your application is accepted before 6.00pm GMT, you will be playing in that day's draw, later on. If your application is accepted after the 6.00pm GMT deadline, you will first be playing in the draw after that day's draw.

What is a Playing Period?
A Playing Period is a 4-week span. Your first Playing Period begins the day you join. For example, if you began playing on the 1st of May, your first Playing Period would last 28 days, ending on the 28th of May. Then, on the 29th of May, your second Playing Period would begin, ending on the 25th of June.

How am I notified of my winnings?
All members are notified of their wins by email within hours of each draw. Your wins are automatically credited to your online Member Account which you can access at all times through your Player Member website. Winners of prizes of £1,000 or more will be contacted by someone from our Member Support Team.

How do I receive my winnings?
Payment is made either by cheque sent to the postal address we hold on file for you or by e-gold. You can choose at any time which method you prefer. Winnings of £500 or more must first be collected from the National Lottery operator before we pass them on to you. This process can take as long as 10 working days from the draw date.
Winnings of up to £500 do not need to be collected from the National Lottery operator beforehand and are paid within 7 working days of the draw date.

How are Syndicate winnings divided?
All winnings are divided equally between Syndicate members: 49 in UK Lotto Syndicates, 39 in EuroMillions Syndicates.

Do I have to find other members to play in my Syndicate?
No. Each of the other places in your Syndicate is taken by other members who could be located anywhere in the world. It's not your responsibility to find them.

Does a Syndicate have to be full before its numbers are entered in the lottery draws?
No. When a new Syndicate must be started to accommodate a new member, its numbers are entered in the next draw as normal. Unless a new Syndicate is created on the day of a draw in the four hour period after 6.00pm GMT (see above).

How long do I play for and how do I cancel my membership?
You can play for as short or as long a time as you like; there is no contract specifying a period of membership. If you wish to stop playing, you can suspend your membership giving 48 hours notice by sending an email to admin@vwdmail.com with your name, membership number and the draws you wish to stop participating in. You are deemed to have suspended your membership when we acknowledge receipt of your request (usually within 24 hours). No further payments are collected and your last draw date will appear on your web site. Of course, you are no longer eligible for any lottery prize money won by your Syndicate after your last draw date. Please note that you can re-activate your subscription at any time by logging on to your member web site and following the directions.

What if I don't make my regular e-Lottery Subscription payment?
Player Members only: If we do not receive your e-Lottery Subscription payment on the due date, for whatever reason, unfortunately you will immediately lose your Syndicate place. You will be notified of this by email and SMS message to your mobile phone (if we have your mobile phone details).

All credit/debit card transactions, both successful and unsuccessful, are recorded by ourselves and by our Merchant processing bank. If your credit/debit card was not processed successfully and the Syndicate from which you were consequently removed then wins, we are not liable for paying you winnings.

Are my credit card and personal details safe when given over the Internet?
Yes. This site uses state-of-the-art encryption. All details sent to and from the site are encrypted, ensuring that all your communication is secure. And confidential information and credit card details are not retained by the site.
All transactions are in British pounds sterling (GBP). That includes your payment to us with your application and ongoing e-Lottery Subscriptions, and our payment to you of winnings. If that isn't your national currency, an easy-to-use online currency converter is always available via a link on your Member website.

How can I change my personal details?
You can change any of your details in your Member website; it's accessible 24 hours a day.
